Anchor Bistro & Bar

Stopped over at the Amaneku hotel around the corner on our 2 week Japan tour with Inspiring Vacations. Googled local restaurants and Anchor came up and we gave it a try. WOW ... what a treat. 1st of all the young lady barmaid was so inviting and attentive and made sure we had English menus. We ordered 5 things from the menu and were blown away by the presentation and tastes of each dish. The chef came out to give us each dish and I can honestly say this is fine dining standards in Australia and was very reasonably priced and made our night in Kanazawa memorable. The food was sooo good. The barmade and chef were so lovely they came and saw us out to the lift. We were the only people in on thiscsunday night so atmosphere combined with weird music is why I gave a 4 here. Don't miss this hidden gem of a place. Thank you Anchor

One of the most random places we’ve had the pleasure of visiting. We effectively had the whole place to ourselves for an hour. This is technically a smoking joint so be aware of that, but the drinks were great (old-fashioned and gin and tonic), beer was cold and food was absolutely delicious. We had the pizza margarita the garlic bread, but the style of the show was the omelette with rice and tomato sauce. Incredibly yummy!

Everything was fantastic! Really recommend this place!! service exceptional, food quality amazing (especially the coconut curry) and incredible cocktails (we ordered 6 Moscow Mule)!

What a hidden gem! We really enjoyed the food and the place feels upscale and classy. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff was super helpful.

This place blew us away it’s so good. Every dish was fantastic, the staff were very kind, and the drinks were tasty too. I was tempted to order everything again, especially the shrimp and mushroom ajillo, the garlic toast, the omelette rice (omurice), and the tartare. Classy and chic place with a great menu, you can’t go wrong. Smoking inside is allowed in case that matters to you

A quiet, cigar loungeish place with a small but delicious menu and an extensive selection of drinks. Tonight’s menu included pickled vegetables, garlic toast, warm lotus root and mushroom salad, pasta vongole in rosso (not pictured), pepperoncini pasta with prosciutto and white chocolate caramel bars. Washing it all down with Bombay Sapphire dry Martini with a twist, Moscow mule, Irish coffee, and a delectable and hard to find 2 finger pour of Blanton’s cast strength.

Great, lovely little bar. Super friendly owner and great food. English menu is available by (auto) translating the online menu. Smaller western dishes (recon 2-3 per person) but each full of flavour. Soundtrack is jazzy and great (Miles Davis, Tony Bennet, Sade, Stevie Wonder). Good place for a cocktail too. Located on 2nd floor.
